Something to think about Nugget “Freedom To Serve”

Today I want to talk about “Freedom to Serve”

….And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free: John 8:32

Having just celebrated the Independence Day of the United States of America I began pondering on what it really means to be free to serve.   This holiday is recognized on one day out of the year however it does not take away from those who strived for this day to finally come into fruition and for this we all should be grateful towards our forefathers in the natural.

However, I am even more grateful for our spiritual father who gave His only begotten son (Jesus) to take on the spiritual battle of slavery to sin for us by giving his life for all mankind.  John 3:16.

There are many history books, documentaries and stories that have been told about individuals acts of suffering of unfairness during those dark times of slavery.  It was their determination and faithfulness as well as their tears and shedding of blood because of their beaten flesh.  They didn’t have to do it yet they knew someone had to.  Some lived to tell their stories while others died and their stories were told for them.  However, no matter how hard the fight they never gave up and today we have been made free through it all.

So in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.  God saw the state of this world, knew it needed a Savior and someone had to do it.  Someone had to be the vehicle to bring about our freedom from sin.  God looked around and saw no one capable enough to endure such a death through the shedding of blood.  So He wrapped Himself in flesh (Jesus Christ) Matthew 1:21, and was born to die that we might have a choice to live freely through Jesus Christ and from the bondage of sin and its penalty.  Choose ye this day who ye shall serve; Joshua 24:14.

Our forefathers chose to be faithful and committed to the truth, that being one day their children and children’s children would be made free and today we are free as we celebrate July 4^th yearly. We as children of God now know the truth through the Word of God and it is the truth that has made us free.  Free to serve every day because of the one who gave us freedom and life and that more abundantly; John 10:10

So as we remember our deliverers in the natural; we must remember our DELIVERER in the spiritual; Jesus the Christ it is HE who has given us Freedom to Serve!!
