Hopefully this will help others.
The Lord dealt with me recently regarding our congregation. A lot of times we say things like ” we thank God for the faithful few”, ” there’s not many of us here tonight “, we have more than this” etc. I’ve been guilty of these saying until God simply made a statement to me during my 4am prayer time. He said tell our church to stop saying these things. Tell them simply ” This is Us” .Our church stays busy for the kingdom and I remind them “We have enough to make it work” and we are blessed to own our building along with the property it sits on and everything in it. Lastly we have been able to be a blessing to others when they needed somewhere to fellowship or have events.
So Im sharing this with Pastors with smaller congregations like us as well as those in the pews. You don’t have to put on “airs” for anyone! You dont have to be ashamed. As long as you know GOD is with you always remember you have enough to make it work.
I remember on a few occasions certain individuals said they came to our church and left because they didn’t see any cars in the parking lot. Or they peeped in and saw too many empty pews or they didn’t hear any instruments playing. My response was you should have come in because everyone including me, doesn’t have a car, you would have heard and seen me beating my purple tambourine and empty pews doesn’t mean no one isn’t here ESPECIALLY God’s PRESENCE. I know many have probably thought and said this about your churches too. But let God always be glorified in your hearts and churches. Remember God wasn’t happy with David when he counted the ppl. I love my church, we’re not few in number…YES This Is Us! #LoveYourChurch#
