Something To Think About Nuggets: “When Enough Becomes Enough”

Today I want to talk about “ When Enough becomes Enough”
Just the other day I found myself in a heated conversation. This conversation left me with a headache, racing heartbeat, weakness and pain in my neck and shoulders. It suddenly became apparent to me that my stress levels were extremely high and what if this had led to a stroke or heart attack? SCARY
So I began to reevaluate where was all this coming from and how did it get to this exhilarating point? Well what happens is I find that I am guilty of always considering others feelings, mishaps etc… more than I do for myself. I find that because of my good heart, unawares I tend to let things ride because I want to at least make an effort not to hurt others and understand what they may be dealing with and too many times accepting their situations which they created. However, I knew I was in trouble because now their issues became mine and that’s not cool.
In doing this, the other day I found myself fed up with me! Everyone has to give an account for what they have done, is doing and will do. My love, understanding, not wanting to hurt others feelings, almost caused me my life. Now you may say I am being too dramatic with this statement but read a little further.
I had caused myself to become burdened down, overwhelmed, frustrated and angry. All of this led to the headache, racing heart, weakness and pain in my neck and shoulders, which could have eventually caused my demised. Holding in all my feelings, emotions, and discomforts because of situations that others had created and now I was attached to, caused me to EXPLODE because I couldn’t take it anymore. Sadly yet honestly, I allowed it to happen because I should have expressed how I was feeling a long time ago and instead of sparing others, I should have spared me..
Now that I have released all that I was holding in and the pain that came along with it. I am able to hear two types of silence. One within my spirit which is very peaceful within my body and the other from the person(s) involved. I am relieved and my health has returned back to normal because I made a decision to finally say what needed to be said. Yes some were hurt and maybe shocked but I guarantee you they now know where I stand. However, reaching this place was dangerous for me because I held it in too long. WHEW I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER, even if they don’t and I realize its ok to put me first for once and going forward because I have feelings too and I have some more living to do!
I advise you to help YOU live longer by not allowing others to live for YOU according to themselves.
My late grandmother had a saying and it still remains true today…”Have I made you my enemy because I told you the truth”
Finally brethren whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely of good report, if there be any virtue and any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 (paraphrased)
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BLESS GOD.
